Check the supporting frame
Look for movement, sagging, splitting timber, corrosion, soft wood and connections pulling away from walls or posts.
Inspect the roof and water path
Damaged sheets, failed fasteners and poor runoff can keep wetting the frame. Repairing the cause of water ingress matters as much as replacing a sheet.
Separate cosmetic from structural work
Peeling paint may only need preparation and recoating. A distorted frame or compromised support needs a closer on-site assessment.
Get the whole structure assessed
Photos are useful for an initial conversation, but measurements, access, drainage and the condition of hidden connections are best checked on site.
